1. Baggage Preparation

Pack your baggage yourself or supervise the packing.

Check closed boxes and packages; never accept items from strangers.

Check with your airline for prohibited items — rules may vary by country.

2. Valuable Items

Carry valuables such as jewelry, cash, mobile phones, laptops, and important documents in your hand luggage.

3. Baggage Restrictions

Baggage may be refused if it:

Poses a risk to the aircraft, passengers, or cargo,

Is not securely packed,

Contains items illegal in the departure, arrival, or transit countries,

Does not comply with size/weight rules.

4. Cabin Baggage

Check cabin baggage size and weight limits with your airline.

Label your baggage with your name, phone number, and address; remove old labels.

5. Unsafe Items

Unsecure packaging (sacks, plastic bags, tin boxes, jerry cans) is not accepted.

Sharp, dangerous, or flammable items (e.g., knives, scissors, lighters) are banned in the cabin.

6. Luggage Wrapping Machines

7. Excess Baggage

Exceeding your allowance may result in extra fees.

8. Baggage Tag & Delivery

Check baggage tag details at check-in.

Never take responsibility for baggage that is not yours.

9. Self Bag Drop (Available at Some Airports)

Scan your boarding pass, weigh and tag your baggage, and drop it off automatically.

May not be available at all airports.

10. Arrival & Damage

If baggage is lost or damaged, contact the Lost & Found office before leaving the airport.

Present your ticket, baggage tag, and ID when filing a report.

Yes, there is. The bag storage facilities in the International Terminal are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
You are allowed to bring a quart-sized bag of liquids, aerosols, gels, creams and pastes in your carry-on bag and through the checkpoint. These are limited to travel-sized containers that are 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) or less per item.
The Consular Office for issuing visas is located on the Arrivals Floor of the International Terminal, in the transit area before the passport check point. It is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and the contact phone is +90 232 455 00 00/ Ext: 3603. Click here for the map.

No. As of January 1, 2025, the printed Overseas Departure Duty stamp application has been abolished. You can make your Overseas Departure Duty payments through the Digital Tax Office, the GIB Mobile Application, internet and mobile branches of participating banks, cash desks and ATMs, PTT, tax offices, or the payment desks and kiosks at the airport.
The Tax-Free Office is located at the International Terminal. You should go there to complete the required procedures. After you are finished there, you can obtain a refund from the Tax-Free Office desk next to the Information Desk.
The TAV Lost and Found Office is at the International Terminal and is open 24/7.
