Two new routes from İzmir Adnan Menderes Airport

İzmir Adnan Menderes Airport welcomed the flights of SunExpress from Barcelona and Venice with a ceremony.

Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport, operated by TAV Airports, welcomed the flights of SunExpress from Barcelona and Venice. Yesterday (June 4), 153 passengers arrived in Izmir from Barcelona, and 54 passengers arrived from Venice. The passengers were greeted with flowers at the terminal. SunExpress will operate flights between Izmir and Barcelona every Sunday until September 24. Direct flights between Izmir and Venice will continue twice a week, on Wednesdays and Sundays, until September 27.

TAV Ege General Manager Erkan Balcı said, "We are delighted to welcome the first direct flights from Barcelona and Venice to Izmir after a five-year hiatus. We are working together with our stakeholders with all our might to increase the number of destinations that can be reached directly from Izmir and promote our city. Currently, our airport offers flights by 32 airlines to 58 destinations in 33 countries on international routes, and four airlines operate flights to 20 destinations on domestic routes. We are ready to welcome guests from all over the world during the summer season."

In the first four months of the year, Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport served 2,777,462 passengers, a 17% increase compared to the same period last year. During the same period, international traffic increased by 32%.
